She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Northern Colorado, where her groundbreaking dissertation, “A Multifaceted Approach to Address Variation in Cannabis sativa,” explored the complex genetic diversity within the cannabis plant.

Dr. Schwabe has served in several academic roles, including Adjunct Faculty at the University of Northern Colorado and Associate Lecturer at the University of Colorado, where she co-taught the pioneering course “Modern Cannabis Science.” Through her teaching, she has helped shape the next generation of cannabis researchers and professionals.

Her contributions extend beyond academia into the cannabis industry, where she served as Director of Research and Development and Director of Education at 420 Organics in New Jersey. There, she focused on aquaponic cultivation methods to grow organic cannabis, merging sustainability with science-based practices.

Dr. Schwabe is also an active Board Member of the Agricultural Genomics Foundation, where she works to promote and advance scientific research, education, and public understanding of cannabis genomics and agricultural science.
