Albert Mills - Owner
Mr. Mills is a proud Wilmington native and lifelong resident dedicated to serving his community through advocacy, public service, and the arts. A U.S. Army veteran, he most recently served as the At-Large Member of Wilmington City Council, where he worked to promote equity, opportunity, and quality of life for all residents.
In addition to his public service, Mr. Mills is deeply engaged in youth and mental health work. He currently serves as Program Coordinator for the Youth Advocate Program, providing mentorship and support to at-risk youth, and as Lead Therapist at Your Center, where he offers counseling and guidance to individuals and families. He is also the co-founder of Art for Life Delaware, a nonprofit organization that uses creative expression as a tool for healing and social change.
Widely recognized for his artistic contributions, Mr. Mills, alongside his twin brother Nnamdi Chukwuocha, forms the acclaimed spoken word duo known as the “Twin Poets.” In 2015, they were appointed the 17th Poets Laureate of the State of Delaware—the first siblings and first co-laureates in the state’s history.
In 2024, Mr. Mills expanded his impact by entering Delaware’s emerging cannabis industry. He successfully applied for and secured one of only three provisional licenses to operate a cannabis testing facility through the state’s competitive licensing process. He is committed to advancing this new industry with a strong focus on product safety, transparency, and public health.
Through each of his roles—as a veteran, public servant, therapist, artist, and entrepreneur—Mr. Mills remains driven by a lifelong commitment to uplifting his community and creating spaces for healing, growth, and opportunity.
